I love that I don’t have to be tied to one state for my job. The fact that I can go experience and adventure other states, makes my travelers heart happy. That is why I love being able to call myself a Washington photographer for not only this session, but several others and I don’t even live in Washington. Ok, I do live right on the other side of the river though, but still! I currently only have Oregon, Washington and Montana on my list, but I get to add Hawaii in January and potentially South Carolina in the spring. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I get to travel around the states and world. To be honest, I get that way for every single session. It is hard not to be excited when you are doing what you love.
Photographing this family was no different at Horsethief Butte as a Washington photographer. The girls are the sweetest and the couple is so genuine. They moved to the area almost a year ago from Hawaii. This night was beautiful, but chilly. Let’s just say that they are adjusting to some cooler temperatures over here on the mainland. They brought out their coats and didn’t even look back. This is my favorite thing. When my clients don’t stress over what they are wearing. Do what can make you comfortable and have a little more fun when you are out documenting yourselves.
I have had the pleasure of knowing this family for most of this year and it has been wonderful. Her passion and smile always warm me up when I see her and she has definitely passed it onto her girls. It is a joy to able to be in their lives. Have you ever been around someone that makes you happy just being in their presence, because of their heart and love? There aren’t too many people out there that send off such a good feeling, but she is one of them.
I feel this way about many of the friends that I know and love, but I think that is because of my deep relationships with them. This is different. I don’t know if it is making sense, but look at these pictures and her family. My goal is to make that light jump through the pictures.
