It had been years since I had been down to the Cherry River Fishing Access and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed that little spot. It has the perfect view of the Bridger Mountains which are my favorite! These mountains are one of the things that I miss about Bozeman the most. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing Mount Hood, but to me nothing beats a mountain range rather than just one mountain sticking up high in the sky. I don’t know why that is. When I thought of this slightly out of town location for this family for an early morning session, it quickly became the perfect spot for them as well. They needed to be slightly closer to town, but it made you feel like you were not on the edge of a city anymore.
Cherry River Fishing Access – The Perfect Location
This session was an extra special one, because another family had gifted them a family session. Their little girl had recently turned one and they didn’t have any family photos. I was beyond thrilled when I was contacted about doing a gifted session for them. This is a gift I have never thought about giving to another family. To buy a session for someone. I’ve gifted photo sessions that I have done, but what if I wasn’t near them nor available. Gifting a session is a new favorite idea I have and I can’t wait to do it for someone else.
They were beyond excited when I met with them on that beautiful June morning. Even though the sun was out in full force, I couldn’t have been more happy with the light and the smiles. Shooting in full on sun isn’t always the best, but I am quickly learning to love it and figure out how to tackle taking a picture in it. It was a privilege to take these pictures and the location did not disappoint. She wanted mountains and water if at all possible and this place had both as well as convenience. As much as I love driving out of town and being away from it all, the closer spots near town can prove to be the better option. What more could we have asked for during this session? Maybe a few clouds. =)
