Michael & Erin’s Family Session
This session was a first for me. I have not done a themed shoot yet, nor have ever been to the Mayer State Park in Oregon. We set out to go find a location with a house sized Christmas tree to decorate in the outdoors. Erin was all about the decorations and brought lots of options, so that we wouldn’t run out of ideas for this family Christmas themed session. Her husband, Michael, was a trouper and went along with anything. Thanks Michael! You helped make the session fun.
Mayer State Park
Mayer State Park was a beautiful area and we found an almost perfect tree for this family to decorate. We were hoping to find that perfect sized Christmas tree, but our drive didn’t land us anywhere there was one. We settled for decorating the bottom half of a bigger tree. The location was perfect. I loved the pond, the fall colors, and the Christmas theme. It was the perfect example of early winter in Oregon. The trees were still full of their fall colors and yet the temperatures were starting to change.
They started decorating the tree and I took a few pictures of them getting it all ready. I didn’t help a little as well. I wasn’t just going to stand around the entire time. Ha! After it was all set up, we were able to have some fun with the little one enjoying all of the decorations that her mom had brought. It was a chilly, yet beautiful day. I wouldn’t have been disappointed if it would have decided to snow a little bit, but we haven’t had our first snowfall yet. I am waiting for the day.
This Christmas themed shoot was fun and I really enjoyed doing something new. I am dying to do a fun campfire session or a Christmas tree farm. I am looking forward to more themed sessions. Let me know if you want to do either of those! I will be all in.
